Guro Begsvand joined Albion in January 2023.

Guro Bergsvand hopes tonight’s WSL game at the Amex gives more Albion fans the opportunity to see the improvements they have made under Mikey Harris.

Albion take on Everton knowing that victory would lift them up to seventh in the table and they are looking to go three games unbeaten in the league for the first time since November 2021.

Bergsvand said, “Our season has had a lot of ups and downs, it’s been a rollercoaster. But the last few months have been good. Performances can vary but we’re in a good spot right now.

Albion trained at the Amex ahead of Friday night's match.

“I remember Mikey saying on his first day that he wanted us to have more possession. He’s got all the players on his path too and everyone is enjoying the way we’re playing right now.

“We have improved in the last few months and I think we have developed as a team and as players. We’ve got four games left and we want to make the most of those.

“We want to play in front of as many people as possible, and to perform and make them to want to come back. It’s super important to play at the Amex and to help grow the fan base.”

Albion would move up to seventh in the WSL with a win on Friday night.

Bergsvand says the performances of fellow Norwegians Maria Thorisdottir and Elisabeth Terland at opposite ends of the pitch have been important in recent weeks.

Terland has scored 14 goals, including 12 in the WSL, while Albion kept their first clean sheet of the season last time out in a 0-0 draw against West Ham.

“I’m proud of Elisabeth, what she has accomplished has been great,” added Bergsvand. “She is an attack by herself. She is still young and has so much she can still achieve. It’s a joy to play with her.

“That first clean sheet was a goal all season, it was super important for us. I feel like we’ve been working towards it for a long time and we’ve been frustrated with some of the goals we’ve let in.

“Maria’s experience helps a lot. In team meetings what she says always has great value for the other players. We’re happy to have her here and I’m happy to play alongside her.”
