Vicky Losada is congratulated by her teammates after scoring for Catalunia.

The top two teams in each of the four A groups automatically qualify and Elisabeth Terland took her outstanding club form into Norway’s first qualifier, coming off the bench to score in their 4-0 win over Finland in Oslo.

Albion teammate Guro Bergsvand started the 1-0 defeat to Netherlands on Tuesday, when Terland was again used as a substitute. All four teams are on three points having won a game each.

Julia Zigiotti was impressive in helping Sweden draw 1-1 with England at Wembley in their Group A 3 opener. The midfielder played the whole game and nearly an hour of Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to France. The French top the group with maximum points with the Lionesses second on four points after they beat Republic of Ireland 2-0 on Tuesday.

Albion’s Emma Kullberg was an unused Sweden sub in both matches.

Countries competing in the B groups have to go through a further qualifying round to seal a place in the finals and Tatiana Pinto helped Portugal get off to a good start in B3 when they followed up a 3-0 home win over Bosnia & Herzegovina with a 2-0 success in Malta on Tuesday. The Albion midfielder played the whole game against Bosnia and 57 minutes against the Maltese.

Greece have also made a good start to their campaign in Group C3, where only the winners are assured of a place in the playoffs, with Albion’s Vea Sarri playing a crucial role.

She scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over the Faroe Islands and was also on target in Tuesday’s 3-0 victory in Andorra. Greece look like fighting out the play-off place with Montenegro, who beat the same opposition to top the group on goal difference.

England under-23s rounded off their season with a 3-1 win over Sweden with Albion’s Katie Robinson coming off the bench to score England’s third goal.

Teammate Poppy Pattinson played the 90 minutes while Maisie Symonds was an unused substitute at Telford’s New Bucks Head.

In friendly matches, Albion captain Vicky Losada was among Catalonia’s scorers in a 5-1 victory over Paraguay.

Jorelyn Carabali played for Colombia as they beat Mexico 1-0 in Orlando and Geummin Lee started one and came off the bench in the other game as South Korea defeated Philippines 3-0 and 2-1 in Icheon City.
