The loan report: Sarmiento promoted with Ipswich

Jeremy Sarmiento enjoyed the first promotion of his career as Ipswich Town beat Huddersfield Town to secure their return to the top flight after a 22-year absence.

The Ecuadorian came on for the final 15 minutes of their 2-0 win over the Terriers, finishing the campaign with 40 Championship appearances across loans with the Tractor Boys and West Brom, who reached the play-offs.

Blackburn Rovers steered clear of relegation thanks to a 2-0 victory over Championship winners Leicester City. Yasin Ayari came on in the final stages, while Andrew Moran was an unused substitute.

James Beadle kept his eighth clean sheet in his 24th and final appearance of his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls claimed a third successive victory as they beat Sunderland 2-0, finishing the campaign in 20th spot. Carl Rushworth’s Swansea City suffered a final-day 1-0 defeat to Millwall.

Stuttgart secured a terrific victory over Bayern Munich on Saturday, as they cut the gap to the second- placed Champions League semi-finalists down to two points. Deniz Undav provided his tenth assist of the Bundesliga season in the 3-1 win, while Mo Dahoud came on for the final 20 minutes.

Steven Alzate was substituted on for the final minutes of Liege's 3-1 defeat to OH Leuven, while Kacper Kozlowski and Adrian Mazilu's Vitesse Arnhem lost 1-0 to FC Utrecht.
